The art of law,

for artists and art lovers.

During my performing career before law school, I often felt that I needed a lawyer to know whether I needed a lawyer.

You might have heard the adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but I found that as an artist it could be difficult to know there’s even something to prevent, let alone how to prevent it.

That’s where Third Bird Legal comes in.

As founder and principal lawyer at Third Bird Legal, I bring my experience as a performer, contractor, and producer. I bring a wealth of knowledge about what can go wrong on your creative and artistic path, and how to help protect your expression, visions, and accomplishments.

I am passionate about independent and grassroots art. I believe in local artistic communities and effective collaboration between artists and organizations from all backgrounds and perspectives. I can’t get enough of performing and creating, and I’m thrilled when I get to help an artist bring their vision to reality as well.

Whether you’re licensing your IP, weighing your options for structuring your business, or making sure your will is in order, we are here to help. If you’re unsure of your legal needs, reach out and tap into our network of connections; I’ll help you determine what you need and make the introduction for you.
